Allegra Chardonnay
Wine
Lethbridge Allegra Chardonnay is sourced from the historic Rebenberg Vineyard at Mount Duneed, located a short distance south-west of Geelong.
The vines, planted in 1981, produce tiny yields of fruit with great flavour density. All the grapes are harvested by hand.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed and run to new French oak puncheons without prior clarification. Fermentation occurs fully in barrel, followed by full malolactic fermentation. Both ferments occur naturally.
The wine matures in barrel on gross lees for 11-15 months prior to blending and bottling.
Bright yellow, Lethbridge Allegra Chardonnay has vibrant stone fruits and hints of citrus framed by spicy, toasty oak tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
